DCS Christmas Shoebox Appeal

Congratulations to Ms. Moylan’s, Ms Maher’s and Mrs. O’ Mahony’s religion classes who took part in this years Shoebox Appeal at DCS. Each box contains at least one of each of four Ws - Wash, Wear, Write and Wow. The boys have filled and decorated  shoeboxes with essential and fun items for children around the world from warming scarves, pens and copybooks (often a passport to education), toothpaste/soap and a nice wow surprise toy.

These packages will be distributed to 12 countries across Eastern Europe and Africa. Sadly, for many of these children, this will be the only gift they will receive this Christmas or in their lives to date. The appeal has again gone from strength to strength  due to people’s generosity in their donations of items. A big thanks to all who took part to make it such a great success this year. Through the Christmas Shoebox Appeal programme children and young adults have the opportunity to demonstrate their consideration and compassion towards others.
