Rowing

Very successful rowing team and home to international past pupils Ronan and Alex Byrne.

Basketball

Incredibly successful basketball tradition which include All-Ireland titles. There are teams for all age groups. Some of our past pupils are now playing professionally.

Volleyball

The newly formed DCS Volleyball Club offers opportunities to compete in both Volleyball and Beach Volleyball. The team is open to all year groups, as we have First Year, Junior and Transition Year teams as well as Senior with all abilities welcome.

Everyone trains together, once a week allowing students to get to know other students in other year groups. This encourages them to learn from each other, a key role in our success.

A vibrant tennis community exists within DCS. We have a great history of competing valiantly in the Munster Schools Competition at U14, U16 and U 19 levels. Players at all levels, from beginners to experienced are encouraged to join.

Tennis

Tag Rugby

Our newest sport, launched in 2024 is proving to be very popular and looking for new members. Tag is a brilliant social sport, suitable for all ages and sporting abilities.

Pitch and Putt

A developing sport in DCS, for students who enjoy both an individual and a team challenge. Two teams from Douglas Community School participated in the Munster Schools Pitch and Putt Competition in May 2024 and in atrocious weather conditions narrowly lost out on medals.

Athletics

DCS athletics is home to one of the most successful athletics programs in Ireland, holding the record for many Munster and South Munster Cross Country titles. We also welcome back past pupil and Americas Providence College scholarship student Liam Harris as our head coach.
