TY Construction Studies Learning Invaluable Skills

4th Yr Construction Studies class have been busy researching their Grandparents/Parents house, reading maps back as far as 1829, critically analysing the property orientation, site layout and sun paths to compare old versus new building types. The theme of sustainability is always to the fore at DCS.

While creating these posters the students used several resources from Geohive, Landdirect, as well as CorkCoCo planning website. Each student generated their own project bringing a bit of history back to their own families.

The future is looking bright for future surveyors, architects, engineers and tradespersons in DCS.
