Financial Literacy Campaign

A team of Transition Year students have been busy working on a Financial Literacy Campaign as part of their TY modules. This involved many initiatives including designing posters to grab the attention of a younger audience by linking well known Tik Tok characters with the messages of Financial Literacy education.

This week our TY students gave a presentation on Financial Literacy to our First Year students using guidance and valuable advice from Elevate Credit Union in Douglas. They highlighted the importance of managing their money to allow them to live a secure and happy life. The session was finished off with a budgeting competition with the chocolate prizes going down a treat.

All materials for this initiative have been sponsored by the CCPC, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, as part of their new educational campaign called “Our Money, Our Future”.

Many thanks to Ms Barry, the TY Financial Literacy Team and all involved in making this such a successful programme.
